The two teams alternated early lead changes, but Hamline's final tie came at 12:12 with an 11-11 score, as Wilkowski (Sr., Savannah, Ga.) hit a layup.
A shot from outside the arc and a jumper put Gustavus up by five again at 11:44. Poirier (So., Eau Claire, Wis.) responded with a three-pointer of her own just 20 seconds later, cutting the deficit to two again.
The trey was Poirier's first of six in the game, as she went 6-for-8 while shooting for three.
The Gusties turned it back around again, however, and lead by seven, 23-16, just inside the eight-minute mark while going on to lead at the half, 36-30.
In the second half, Gustavus led by as many as 10 with under four minutes to play, but the Pipers wound up evening out the half.
Poirier led with a game-high 26 points while Wilkowski tallied 25. She also added 11 rebounds for the double-double. Steph Robinson (Jr., Iowa City, Iowa) added 10 points.
The Pipers fall to 8-12, 7-10 MIAC while the Gusties are 12-8, 11-6 MIAC.
Hamline next plays on Saturday, February 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Mary's. The game is the first in a women's-men's double-header.
