After trailing 6-0, Hamline’s two runs came in the top of the seventh inning as Bethany Hine (Fy., Carver, Minn.) hit a double to right-center. Hine drove in Kara Poirier (Fy., Eau Claire, Minn.) and Kristi Gravem (So., Maplewood, Minn.), who hit singles to get on base.

The Blue Devils scored three runs in the third inning on a pair of hits and an error, then added a run in each of the next three innings.

Jessalyn Weaver (Sr., Eagan, Minn.) threw all six innings, taking the loss on the rubber for the Pipers. Hine was 2-for-4 at the plate with the two RBI.

In the second game, UW-Stout took a 6-0 lead before the Pipers put a pair of runs on the board in the top of the fourth. Laura Randall (Fy., Fridley, Minn.) and Jessica Churchill (So., Duluth, Minn.) had the RBI to cut the Piper deficit to 6-2.

The Blue Devils scored one run on each of their next three at-bats to finish the game, holding on to the lead despite the Pipers scoring six in the next three innings.

In the fifth, Hamline managed just one hit but plated three base runners as UW-Stout committed three errors. The lone hit came on a single from Erin Kastner (Fy., Faribault, Minn.). Jackie Brigl (Fy., Roseville, Minn.) and Norah Antil (Sr., Pflugerville, Texas) each had an RBI in the inning.

The sixth resulted in two Hamline runs as Lori Moldan (So., Sleepy Eye, Minn.) and Brenna Healy (Sr., Mounds View, Minn.) each hit solo homers. A third solo homer in the seventh from Bigl resulted in the final Piper run of the day.

Brigl and Kastner were each 2-for-4, with Brigl driving in two runs and each scored two runs apiece. Kelsey Tacheny (Jr., Saint Paul, Minn.) threw four innings and took the loss for Hamline.

The Pipers close the season with a 19-19, 13-9 MIAC record with the non-conference losses.
