St. Thomas, filling the role of visitors on the scoreboard, put three
runs on six hits and a Piper error on the board in the top of the first
inning for the early lead. The Tommies then added another run in the
fourth on a pair of hits and three more runs on four hits in the fifth.
The Pipers' lone run of the game came in the bottom of the sixth as
Alleah Pac (Fy., Federal Way, Wash.) hit a single with one out, advanced
to third on another single and a walk. She then scored as Jackie Brigl
(Fy., Roseville, Minn.) earned the RBI while reaching on a fielder's
choice.
Jessalyn Weaver (Sr., Eagan, Minn.) threw two innings and took the loss on the rubber for the Pipers.

The Pipers also took the spot as the home team on the scoreboard for
the second non-conference contest of the day against an MIAC opponent.
The teams ended the second inning in a 2-2 tie after St. Olaf scored
one run in each inning and the Pipers put a pair on the board in the
bottom of the first.
With Brenna Healy (Sr., Mounds View, Minn.) on first base after
hitting a single to left center, Brigl stepped up to the plate and hit
her first homerun as a Piper.
After playing scoreless ball in the third and fourth innings, the
Pipers used three hits and an Ole error to score a trio of runs in the
fifth.
Kara Poirier (Fy., Eau Claire, Wis.) led off the inning by knocking a
single down the left field line, followed by a single to center from
Ashley Anderberg (Sr., Circle Pines, Minn.).
Bethany Hine (Fy., Carver, Minn.) reached on a fielder's choice that
took out Poirier at third, but the bases were quickly loaded as Kristi
Gravem (So., Maplewood, Minn.) drew a walk.
Weaver then drove in Anderberg and Hine with a double to center field and Gravem scored during the next at-bat on an Ole error.
The Pipers scored their sixth run in the sixth as Laura Randall (Fy.,
Fridley, Minn.) led off with a double and ultimately scored on a wild
pitch.
Erin Kastner (Fy., Faribault, Minn.) went 2-for-4 at the plate while
Anderberg was 2-for-2. Brigl and Weaver each went 1-for-1 at the plate
with two RBI.
Weaver threw three innings in relief to pick up the win while striking out three batters.
The Pipers are now 4-4 overall while St. Olaf is 1-9. Hamline will
play a double-header at La Sierra University on Wednesday, March 31.
