McKeag (So., Lakeville, Minn.) had an NCAA provisional qualifying throw as he placed second in the shot put with a toss of 15.76 meters (51-8 ½). Derall King (Jr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was fourth with a put of 15.28 meters (50-1 ¾).

Pipers took third through fifth place, with the first two spots claimed by unattached athletes, in the weight throw. Nate Bell (Sr., St. Peter, Minn.) was third with a throw of 49.37 meters (162-0), Aaron Wilkerson (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) was fourth at 48.92 meters (160-6), and Andrew Schlichting (So., North Oaks, Minn.) was fifth with a toss of 47.89 meters (157-1). 

First-year Shaise Schuette (Anoka, Minn.) cleared 4.40 meters (14-5 ¼) to finish fourth overall behind three athletes from the University of Minnesota in the pole vault.

Brent Nelson (Sr., New London, Minn.) placed fifth overall and third amongst Division III competitors in the 400-meter dash in 50.16.

Crossing the line in 1:56.63, Ian Campbell (So., Blooming Prairie, Minn.) placed sixth over all and fourth amongst Division III runners in the 800-meter run.
