King (Jr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) won the shot put with a put of
16.72 meters (54-10 1/4). The throw met the NCAA provisional mark.
Brennan McKeag (So., Lakeville, Minn.) placed fourth in the same
event with a throw of 14.51 meters (47-7 1/4) and Blake Springman (Jr.,
Adrian, Minn.) was seventh with a throw of 13.35 meters (43-9 3/4).
Three Pipers finished in the top ten in the weight throw. Nate Bell
(Sr., St. Peter, Minn.) was sixth with a throw of 15.93 meters (52-03
1/1). Andrew Schlichting (So., North Oaks, Minn.) was seventh (15.80
meters, 51-10), and Aaron Wilkerson (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) was ninth
with a toss of 15.56 meters (51-3/4).
On the track, Tyson Molitor (Jr., Belgrade, Minn.) was seventh in the 600-meter run, crossing the line in 1:24.04.
Hamline's 1600-meter relay team of Andy Marnach (Sr., Hokah, Minn.),
Molitor, Christian Swanberg (Jr., Lindstrom, Minn.), and Brent Nelson
(Sr., New London, Minn.) placed third with a time of 3:24.22.
The Pipers will next compete at St. Olaf on Saturday, January 23, at St. Olaf.
