Clarence Suttle (Jr., Saint Paul, Minn.) started off the meet by
winning the 55-meter dash in 6.63. Paris Richardson (Sr., Brooklyn
Center, Minn.) finished fourth in 6.87.
Pipers then took the first through fourth place finishes in the
200-meter dash won by Andy Marnach (Sr., Hokah, Minn.) in 22.87.
Christian Swanberg (Jr., Lindstrom, Minn.) was second in 23.18, DJ Weil
(Fy., Chaska, Minn.) was third in 23.47, and Dan Holmgren (Jr., Andover,
Minn.) was fourth in 23.51.
Marnach won the 400-meter dash in 51.31 and Tyson Molitor (Jr., Belgrade, Minn.) won the 600-yard dash in 1:15.74.
Ian Campbell (So., Blooming Prairie, Minn.) took the title in the
3000-meter run with a finish of 8:48.21. Ian Bauer (Sr., Roseville,
Minn.) was second in 8:50.66.
Matt Warhol (Jr., Andover, Minn.) took the win in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.28.
In the field events, Ben Johnson (So., Roseville, Minn.) won the
triple jump with a leap of 13.37 meters (43-10 1/2). Christian Kibler
(Fy., Burnsville, Minn.) was second with a jump of 12.50 meters (41
1/4).
Derall King (Jr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) won the shot put with a
toss of 16.17 meters (53 3/4). King's throw met the NCAA provisional
mark for the second week in a row. Brennan McKeag (So., Lakeville,
Minn.) placed second with a put of 13.59 meters (44-7).
King also won the weight throw with a throw of 15.49 meters (50-10).
Andrew Schlichting (So., North Oaks, Minn.) was second with a toss of
16.28 meters (53-5).
The final Piper event win came in the pole vault by Shaise Schutte
(Fy., Anoke, Minn.). He cleared 4.48 meters (14-8 1/4) for the win.
The Pipers will next compete at UW-Superior in the Border Battle on Saturday, February 6.
