McKeag (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) took third in the weight throw with a
provisional mark of 17.89 meters, an improvement over his provisional
mark at the Carleton meet.
Hamline had a strong showing in the weight throw, with three other
athletes place in the top 10. Derall King (Sr., Inver Grove Heights,
Minn.) placed fourth with 16.73 meters, Andrew Schlicting (Jr., North
Oaks, Minn.) placed fifth with 16.66 meters and Blake Springman (Sr.,
Adrian, Minn.) placed fifth with 16.47 meters.
The Pipers also put together a strong showing in the shot put,
placing four athletes in the top 10. McKeag led the charge again,
placing first with a put of 16.33 meters.
King placed third with a put of 14.92 meters, Springman placed
seventh with a put of 13.95 meters and Joe Morelli (Fy., Lynwood, Wash.)
placed ninth with a put of 13.06 meters.
The Pipers had a trio of runners place well in the 400 meter dash.
Christian Willman (So., Rosemount, Minn.) had a sixth place finish with
51.57, DJ Weil (So. Chaska, Minn.) placed seventh with a 51.71 and
Christian Swanberg (Sr., Lindstrom, Minn.) placed ninth running 51.77.
Hamline took the top two spots in the 1000 meter run. Jack Deichert
(Jr., Golden Valley, Minn.) finished first running 2:30.92. Ian
Campbell (Sr., Blooming Prairie, Minn.) ran to a second place finish
with a time of 2:32.39.
Ellis Richardson (Jr., Roseville, Minn.) finished second in the mile run in 4:30.33.
Shaise Schuette (So., Anoka, Minn.) placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 4.30 meters.
The Piper 1600-meter relay team of Swanberg, Weil, Willman and Tyson
Molitor (Sr., Belgrade, Minn.) also ran well, placing third with a time
of 3:25.83.
Hamline next competes on Friday, February 18, at the University of Minnesota.
