McKeag (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) continued to impress in the indoor throws events as he hit the NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the shot put at UW-Superior on Saturday.

En route to hitting the auto qualifier in the shot put, McKeag set both a meet and a fieldhouse record with his throw to win the event. Additionally, his throw is currently the best throw in the country.

He had a put of 17.15 meters (56-3 1/4).

McKeag was third in the weight throw at UW-Superior with a toss of 17.84 meters (58-6 1/2).

In addition to being McKeag's second MIAC athlete of the week honor of the 2011 season, it is the fourth in his career.

The Pipers will next compete on Friday, February 11, at St. Thomas.
