The Pipers carried a 2-1 lead coming out of the doubles matches, as David Croonquist (Fy., North Oaks, Minn.) and Robert Becker (So., Minnetonka, Minn.) partnered for an 8-4 win at first doubles. Patrick Mitambo (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) and Kyle Helgemoe (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) then won at second, 8-2.

Croonquist and Helgemoe went on to sweep their matches on the day, starting with an easy win at first singles for Croonquist, 6-0, 6-1. Helgemoe won in a third-set super-breaker at fourth singles, 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 11-9.

Hamline falls to 7-6, 0-5 MIAC with the conference loss while the Oles are now 2-8, 1-3 MIAC. The Pipers return to Minnesota and will travel to Saint John’s for a 12:00 p.m. match on Saturday, April 17.
