Andrew Lutz (So., Pine City, Minn.) bounced back after losing the
first set to force a super-breaker in his match at fifth singles. He was
narrowly edge out in the extra frame, 2-6, 6-4, 11-13.
Bernard Mitambo (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) played a strong first set,
ultimately falling in a 5-7, 2-6 match at third singles, while David
Croonquist's (Fy., North Oaks, Minn.) debut as a Piper came in a close
3-6, 4-6 loss at first singles.
The Pipers open the season at 0-1, 0-1 MIAC while the Knights start
out at 1-0, 1-0 MIAC. Hamline will host St. Scholastica on Sunday,
February 7, at Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville.
