Pipers complete second straight sweep with win over Bethany Lutheran

Hamline dropped just two games en route to sweeping the doubles matches. David Croonquist (Fy., North Oaks, Minn.) and Robert Becker (So., Minnetonka, Minn.) at first doubles and Bernard Mitambo (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) and Sam Teitelbaum (So., Afton, Minn.) at second doubles won 8-0 matches.

Andrew Lutz (So., Pine City, Minn.) and Dan Cromwell (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) won at third doubles, 8-2.

The Pipers went on to drop just three games in singles. Becker won at first singles, 6-1, 6-0, while Mitambo reversed the score and won 6-0, 6-1 at second singles.

Kyle Helgemoe (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) at third singles, Cromwell at fourth, and Mickey Witt (Fy., Lakeville, Minn.) at sixth singles all won 6-0, 6-0. It was Witt's first collegiate win.

Brendan FitzPatrick (So., White Bear Lake, Minn.) won a 6-0, 6-1 match at fifth singles.

The Pipers improved to 4-1 overall with the win. Hamline returns to conference play on Friday, February 26, with a 5:00 p.m. match at Gustavus.
