The Pipers started off the evening session with an eighth place
finish in the 200 freestyle relay. The team of Khoury-Hanold, David
Janezich (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn.), Tyler Lambert-Perkins (Sr., Fargo,
N.D.), and Tyler Anderson (Jr., North Mankato, Minn.) swam nearly five
seconds faster than their seed time, touching the wall in 1:36.89.
Khoury-Hanold then finished seventh in the 200 IM finals with a 1:57.48 time.
The night ended with the Piper 400 yard medley relay team finishing
eighth with a time of 4:08.71. The team consisted of Lambert-Perkins,
Anderson, Khoury-Hanold, and Janezich.
During the morning preliminary sessions, Khoury-Hanold's 200 IM time
of 1:57.12 was seventh in the preliminary heats. Already third on the
Piper all-time list in the event, the finish bettered his previous time
of 1:57.57.
Janezich swam a 5:20.32 in the 500 freestyle, finishing 22nd, while Anderson was 33rd in the 50 freestyle in 25.85.
On the one-meter diving board, Chris Zimmerman (Fy., North Mankato,
Minn.) tallied 273.05 points in the preliminary round of dives.
Tonight's finals session will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the University of Minnesota.
