Wone's goal gives Pipers MIAC shutout on the road

The Pipers fought a tough defensive battle throughout the game with Zach Nelson (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) making 11 saves in goal for the Pipers.

"To earn a shutout like that on the road in the MIAC is a great thing," said head coach Jon Lowery. "It was a strong defensive showing for our team."

Wone scored his unassisted goal at 55:57 for the win.

Hamline out-shot the Royals 20-to-18, and each team had five corner kicks in the game.

The Pipers are now 3-3-0, 1-1-0 MIAC while the Royals are 2-5-0, 1-1-0 MIAC. Hamline returns to non-conference play on Thursday, September 23, as they host Cornell College at 4:00 p.m.
