The Pipers fought a tough defensive battle throughout the game with
Zach Nelson (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) making 11 saves in goal for the Pipers.
"To earn a shutout like that on the road in the MIAC is a great
thing," said head coach Jon Lowery. "It was a strong defensive showing
for our team."
Wone scored his unassisted goal at 55:57 for the win.
Hamline out-shot the Royals 20-to-18, and each team had five corner kicks in the game.
The Pipers are now 3-3-0, 1-1-0 MIAC while the Royals are 2-5-0,
1-1-0 MIAC. Hamline returns to non-conference play on Thursday,
September 23, as they host Cornell College at 4:00 p.m.
