The Pipers tallied a goal in each period, starting with a Brian
Arrigoni (So., Saint Paul, Minn.) power play tally at 18:57 in the
first. Jay Fifield (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) had the assist.
Austun Tavis (Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) then scored a short-handed
goal after Fifield and Cole Scattarelli (Sr., Elk River, Minn.) pushed
the puck up to him in the neutral zone and he took it in the rest of the
way. That goal came at 16:36 in the second.
In the third period, Concordia called a timeout and pulled their
goalie while on a power play at 15:30 to try to get themselves back into
the game.
Chris Berenguer (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) took advantage of the
empty net just seconds later, scoring the second Piper short-handed goal
of the game at 15:34. Tavis had the assist on the goal.
Hamline ends the regular season at 16-5-4, 11-3-2 MIAC while the
Cobbers end their season at 5-15-5, 4-7-5 MIAC. Hamline will host St.
Thomas in the MIAC semifinal game on Saturday, February 27, at 7:15 p.m.
at Drake Arena.
