Pipers shutout Cobbers to close out regular season

The Pipers tallied a goal in each period, starting with a Brian Arrigoni (So., Saint Paul, Minn.) power play tally at 18:57 in the first. Jay Fifield (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) had the assist.

Austun Tavis (Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) then scored a short-handed goal after Fifield and Cole Scattarelli (Sr., Elk River, Minn.) pushed the puck up to him in the neutral zone and he took it in the rest of the way. That goal came at 16:36 in the second.

In the third period, Concordia called a timeout and pulled their goalie while on a power play at 15:30 to try to get themselves back into the game.

Chris Berenguer (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) took advantage of the empty net just seconds later, scoring the second Piper short-handed goal of the game at 15:34. Tavis had the assist on the goal.
