#8 Pipers sweep Royals

Hamline wasted little time in scoring their first goal, opening with a 1-0 lead at 1:49 in the first. Brian Arrigoni (So., Saint Paul, Minn.) scored his second goal of the year on assist from Ryan Kupperman (Jr., Canterbury, N.H.) and Kyle Kurr (Sr., Elk River, Minn.).

Bethel tied the game at 13:13, but Hamline ended the period with the advantage as Alex Lundbohm (Jr., Roseau, Minn.) scored at 16:14. Dustin Postell (Sr., Wadena, Minn.) and Danny Vranek (Jr., New Port Richey, Minn.) were credited with the assists.)

Kurr then tallied what became the game-winner at 5:17 in the second period on a power play. Chris Berenguer (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Arrigoni tallied the assists.

Bethel's second goal came with 16 seconds left in the game, but they couldn't tie it to force overtime.

The Pipers remain the only MIAC team without a loss in conference play. Their record improved to 10-2-3, 5-0-1 MIAC. Hamline will play at St. Thomas on Friday, January 22, at 7:00 p.m.
