Hamline wasted little time in scoring their first goal, opening with a
1-0 lead at 1:49 in the first. Brian Arrigoni (So., Saint Paul, Minn.)
scored his second goal of the year on assist from Ryan Kupperman (Jr.,
Canterbury, N.H.) and Kyle Kurr (Sr., Elk River, Minn.).
Bethel tied the game at 13:13, but Hamline ended the period with the
advantage as Alex Lundbohm (Jr., Roseau, Minn.) scored at 16:14. Dustin
Postell (Sr., Wadena, Minn.) and Danny Vranek (Jr., New Port Richey,
Minn.) were credited with the assists.)
Kurr then tallied what became the game-winner at 5:17 in the second
period on a power play. Chris Berenguer (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) and
Arrigoni tallied the assists.
Bethel's second goal came with 16 seconds left in the game, but they couldn't tie it to force overtime.
The Pipers remain the only MIAC team without a loss in conference
play. Their record improved to 10-2-3, 5-0-1 MIAC. Hamline will play at
St. Thomas on Friday, January 22, at 7:00 p.m.
