The All-American list consists of a team from the east region and a
team from the west region - each boasting one goalie, two defensemen,
and three forwards.
Berenguer's back-to-back All-American honors come after the Pipers
finished second in the conference standings to make their third straight
appearance in the MIAC tournament.
En route to the post-season the Pipers entered the USCHO.com Top 15
on November 23. On January 4, the team reached a season-high ranking of
#7, which is also the highest ranking in program history.
Berenguer ranked seventh in the country in defensemen scoring (1.12
points per game) and had 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) in MIAC
play to lead all conference defensemen in scoring.
He was second on the team in scoring with 28 points (six goals, 22
assists). Additionally in conference play, he was third in assists in
MIAC play and had two points in short-handed scoring in MIAC play, tying
for the top of the conference list in that category.
