The Pipers out-shot the Pointers, 33-32, in the game.
Stevens Point scored first early in the game as Nic Polaski (Sr., Delafield, Wis.) put the puck in the net at 5:28.
Chris Berenguer (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) evened the score on a
power play goal five minutes later, sliding the puck in from the top of
left circle on a hard shot at 10:50. Alex Lundbohm (Sr., Roseau, Minn.)
and Danny Vranek (Sr., New Port Richie, Fla.) tallied the assists.
The Pointers would then go on to score four unanswered goals for the 5-1 win.
Alex Handy (So., Carmel, Ind.) scored on a power play at 15:25 in the
first before a pair of goals were added in the second. Johnny Meo (So.,
Vernon Hills, Ill.) scored at 9:39 and then another power play goal
came from Chad Boeckman (Jr., St. Louis, Mo.).
The final goal from Stevens Point came in the third period at 9:22 from Jon Madden (Jr., Brighton, Mich.)
Hamline is now 3-1-0 overall with the non-conference loss. The
Pointers are 4-1-0. The Pipers have next weekend off before traveling to
Saint Mary's on Friday, November 19th, for their first MIAC contest at
7:00 p.m.
