A scoreless opening period broke free for a six-goal second, starting
with an early 2-0 St. Olaf lead. The Oles scored at 5:57 on an
even-strength tally and then added a power play score at 12:22.
Hamline evened the score quickly, however, starting with an Alex
Lundbohm (Sr. Roseau, Minn.) score at 13:32. Brian Arrigoni (Jr., Saint
Paul, Minn.) and Ryan Kupperman (Sr., Canterbury, N.H.) were credited
with the assists.
Jordan Van Gilder (Jr., Lino Lakes, Minn.) then scored a short-handed
goal at 15:18 off of an assist from Danny Vranek (Sr., New Port Richey,
Minn.), tying up the game.
The Oles took back a one-goal lead at 18:22, but Arrigoni's goal at
19:13 provided the second tie of the game. Tim Olson (Jr., Apple Valley,
Minn.) and Lundbohm earned the assists on the score.
In the third period, the Oles put up a quick power play goal, scoring
at 1:25. Van Gilder didn't let the lead last long, as he scored at 2:31
for the final tie of the night. Jake Heck (Fy., Edina, Minn.) and Chris
Berenguer (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) had the assists on the final goal.
The Pipers out-shot the Oles 38-36 in the game.
Hamline is now 6-3-1, 3-0-1 MIAC while the Oles are 4-5-3, 0-3-3
MIAC. The Pipers will next play on New Year's Day when they host the
Milwaukee School of Engineering, currently ranked #11 in the USCHO.com
national poll, at 6:00 p.m.
