Adrian scored first in the game, as Brad Houston scored an
even-strength goal at 16:39 in the first period. That would be the only
tally of the opening 20 minutes.
At 4:45 in the second, Alex Lundbohm (Sr., Roseau, Minn.) evened the
score with a power play goal. Jordan Van Gilder (Jr., Lino Lakes, Minn.)
and Chris Berenguer (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) were credited with the
assists.
After that, a trio of unanswered Adrian goals gave the Bulldogs the
4-1 win. Shawn Courtney scored a goal with the team skating 4-on-4 at
12:43 in the second period. Shawn Skelly then scored two power play
goals in the third period - the first just 40 seconds into the period
and the second at 11:18.
Hamline out-shot Adrian, 31-27, in the game.
Danny Vranek (Sr., New Port Richey, Fla.) was named Hamline's
offensive MVP for the weekend while Berenguer was the Pipers' defensive
MVP.
Hamline falls to 5-3-0 overall while Adrian improves to 6-2-0 overall
after the non-conference contest. The Pipers will return to MIAC play
as they host St. Olaf on Friday, December 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Warner
Coliseum.
