Hamline struck first in the second game of the series as Brett Burgau
(Sr., New Ulm, Minn.) scored at 5:30 of the first period. Zach Johnson
(Fy., Mound, Minn.) was credited with the assist.
The Tommies evened up the score in the same period, however, with an Andrew Kappers short-handed goal at 12:49.
After a scoreless second period, Lundbohm wasted little time in
scoring the game-winner in the third. His tally at 1:19 was assisted by
Brian Arrigoni (Jr., Saint Paul, Minn.) and Ryan Kupperman (Sr.,
Hamline was out-shot 37-22 in the game, as Beau Christian (Jr.,
Moorhead, Minn.) stopped 36 shots en route to the win in goal. In total,
he recorded 66 saves in the weekend series.
The Pipers are now 11-3-3, 6-0-2 MIAC while the Tommies are 10-9-0,
5-5-0 MIAC. Hamline will next play Augsburg, hosting the Auggies on
Friday, January 28, at 7:00 p.m.
