Kupperman opened the scoring for the Pipers at 1:27 in the first period on an assist from Jay Fifield (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.)
The Auggies then tallied a pair of goals to close out the first period with a 2-1 lead. Their scores came at 13:07 and 18:41.
Arrigoni and Kupperman responded for the Pipers in the second period,
putting up three goals in under seven minutes. Arrigoni's first goal
came at 5:30 from Kupperman and goalie Beau Christian (Jr., Moorhead,
Minn.). He then scored again at 9:18 from Alex Lundbohm (Sr., Roseau,
Minn.).
Kupperman's goal was a power play score at 12:10 from Arrigoni and Chris Berenguer (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.).
The Auggies made it a one-goal game before the end of the period, scoring at 19:43.
The hosts scored the lone goal of the third period at 11:28,
ultimately sending the game to overtime. Hamline out-shot Augsburg 3-2
in the extra frame, but the teams ended the night deadlocked.
The Pipers are now 12-3-4, 7-0-3 MIAC and the Auggies are 8-8-3,
2-6-2 MIAC. Hamline returns home to host Saint John's on Thursday,
February 3, at 7:00 p.m.
