Pipers win second straight MIAC championship, sweep men's titles

Hamline repeats as conference championships as the Pipers placed three runners in the top five, six in the top 20, and their top seven in the top 23. The top 15 runners at the championship are All-MIAC.

The Pipers ran away with the title with 31 points. St. Olaf finished second with 79 points, Saint John’s was third with 96, St. Thomas finished fourth with 141 and Bethel rounded out the top five at 145.

Monson crossed the finish line first in 25:38.7.  A trio of Pipers then crossed in fourth, fifth, and sixth places - Jack Deichert (Jr., Golden Valley, Minn.) in 26:13.2, Colin Rogers (So., River Falls, Wis.) in 26:14.4 and Ian Campbell (Sr., Blooming Prairie, Minn.) in 26:16.7

Finishing 15th was Ellis Richardson (Jr., Shoreview, Minn.) in 26:40.1 while Andy Johnson (Sr., Andover, Minn.) was 18th in 26:47.5.

Nate Dobbins (So., Rochester, Minn.) rounded out the top Piper finishers in 23rd in 26:58.9.

Hamline will race in the Fall Finale at Saint John's on Friday, November 5, before competing in the Central Region Championships in Waverly, Iowa, on Saturday, November 13.
