Brown and Hipp earn College Sporting News post-season honors

Honored alongside Brown (Sr., Saint Paul, Minn.) as CSN’s Player of the Year for the MIAC is Aaron Burtzel from Saint John’s. 

Brown led the league in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game. He also led the league in three-pointers made (2.50 per game) and was sixth in rebounding (7.7 rpg). Brown was among the MIAC leaders in steals, blocked shots, free throw percent and three-point accuracy.

Hipp (Jr., Little Canada, Minn.) finished third in the conference in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in MIAC play. He was second in the conference in field goal shooting percentage (.570) and his 2.50 blocks per game led the conference by more than a block per game.

The Pipers ended the regular season with a 15-10, 11-9 MIAC record and earned the fifth seed in the MIAC tournament. They travel to the fourth seed, Carleton, tonight for a 7:30 p.m. MIAC quarterfinal game.
