This is the second time Hipp (Sr., Little Canada, Minn.) has received
the honor this season. He was also named to the Team of the Week on
January 11.
Hipp moved into 6th all-time in scoring at Hamline, surpassing the
career points total of NBA Hall of Famer Vern Mikkelsen, en route to
averaging a double-double in a 3-0 week for the Pipers.
He opened the week with the career milestone, as he scored 18 points
(and brought down 11 rebounds) in a road win at Augsburg. He eclipsed
Mikkelsen's career point total of 1,415 in that game.
He then went on to tally 23 points and 15 rebounds in a home win over
Gustavus Adolphus, and then had 19 points and nine rebounds in
Hamline’s two-point win at Saint Mary's.
Hipp has 11 double-doubles this year and has scored in double-digits in all but one game.
He is now just 47 points shy of the 1,500 career point milestone.
