Hipp earns MIAC honor

Hipp averaged 23.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. The week prior he averaged 21.7 points and 12.3 rebounds.

In Hamline's 102-96 loss at St. Olaf, Hipp tallied 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

In the Pipers' 85-66 win over Saint Mary's, Hipp tallied 23 points and pulled down 16 boards. He also had a pair of blocked shots in the game. In the second half, with the score tied five minutes into the period, Hipp orchestrated a momentum swing that put the Pipers ahead for good.

At 15:16, he knocked down one of his two blocks of the game and just seconds later, layed it up for a 48-46 lead. Saint Mary's tied it one more time, but Hipp immediately snagged the lead back with another jumper - and the Pipers stayed ahead from there.

The Pipers are 7-6, 5-3 MIAC and host #4 St. Thomas tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Hutton Arena.
