Pipers compete in the Best of Minnesota meet

The host Division I Gophers won the meet with a score of 196.125. Winona State placed second at 183.550, Hamline had a team score of 179.450 to finish third, and Gustavus Adolphus was fourth at 175.525.

Lissette LaFex (So., Diamond Bar, Calif.) placed third in the all-around with a total score of 36.550 (vault-9.150, bars-9.350, beam-9.025, floor-9.025). Molly Weber (Sr., Taos, N.M.) placed fourth with a total score of 35.275 (vault-9.275, bars-8.900, beam-9.075, floor-9.025).

On the vault, Courtney Benson (Fy., Winona, Minn.) was the highest placing gymnast from the WIAC schools, placing seventh behind six Gophers with a score of 9.550. She did the same on floor exercise, finishing seventh behind the Gopher competitors with a score of 9.325.

LaFex' score on the uneven parallel bars netted her the same result as Benson, as her seventh place finish was the best among WIAC schools.

Hamline next competes on Sunday, February 27, hosting Winona State, UW-LaCrosse, UW-Oshkosh at 1:00 p.m.
