In an unusual twist, Kreitlow is the co-pitcher of the week alongside
St. Thomas' Matt Schuld, who threw the final five innings of the same
game to get the win.
The Tommies’ lone hit in the game was a lead-off single in the first
inning. That runner would eventually score on a sacrifice fly for the
only earned run of the game.
After that single, Kreitlow would go on to retire the next 23 batters
until allowing two harmless walks in the eighth (his only two walks of
the game). He struck out four batters in the game.
St. Thomas ultimately scored the game-winner in the 10th on a pair of Piper fielding errors.
Adding to the impressive performance, this nine and two-thirds inning
complete game came just four days after Kreitlow threw 10 innings
against Saint John's on Saturday. In that double-header, he threw two
scoreless innings to finish off the opener and then tossed a complete
game in an eight-inning win in the second game.
