The Pipers and Cobbers exchanged runs in the second inning of the
game in Moorhead, However, Concordia jumped out to a four-run lead on
four hits in the third.
Hamline closed the gap to one run in the fourth as they put three
runs on the board with four hits. J.D. Modrynski (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.)
led off with a singled and advanced to third as Andy King (So., Ft.
Myers, Fla.) knocked a double down the left field line.
Modrynski then crossed the plate on a Cobber wild pitch and King
scored on an RBI single from Cody Kielsa (Fy., Buffalo, Minn.). Kielsa
scored the third run of the inning on an RBI single from Jacob Dahl
(Fy., Burnsville, Minn.).
Concordia ultimately took their 9-4 final advantage on the scoreboard
with four runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Kielsa was 2-for-3 at the plate with the RBI to lead the Pipers.
Brett Bugielski (So., River Falls, Wis.) threw two and two-thirds
innings in taking the loss on the mound for the Pipers.
Game 2:

In the second game of the double-header, the Cobbers put runs on the board in every inning en route to the 16-5 win.
Concordia started with a run in the first, added three in the second
and two more in the third. They put five on the board in the fourth and
three apiece in the fifth and sixth innings.
The Pipers put a run on the board in the second and then two apiece in the fourth and sixth innings as they totaled 11 hits.
Cory Miller (So,. Coon Rapids, Minn.) was 2-for-3 at the plate with
two RBI in the second game to lead Hamline. Andy Powell (Jr.,
Minneapolis, Minn.) and Lincoln Hughes (Sr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.)
each had an RBI in the game.
Evan Knutson (Fy., Faribault, Minn.) threw two innings in taking the loss for Hamline.
With the pair of losses, the Pipers fall to 6-14, 0-2 MIAC.
The Cobbers are now 9-6, 2-0 MIAC. Hamline plays a nine-inning game
against the University of Minnesota on Tuesday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m.
The game will be played at the Metrodome.
