Third period goal gives Cobbers win over Pipers

The visiting Cobbers struck first with Tara Korf (Fy., Oakdale, Minn.) scoring an unassisted goal at 2:55.

The Pipers answered that score less than a minute later as Alli Miller (Sr., Faribault, Minn.) put the puck in at 3:48. Jessica Kraus (Jr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was credited with the assist.

10 minutes later Hamline took a one-goal lead and this time it was Kraus scoring at 13:20. Haley Johnson (So., Bemidji, Minn.) and Jessica Hunt (Fy., Bemidji, Minn.) tallied the assists.

Despite the 2-1 lead after the opening 20 minutes, the Cobbers out-shot the Pipers 16-5.

In the second period, Concordia evened up the score with another unassisted goal, this time from Katelyn Dold (Jr., St. Cloud, Minn.) at 5:48.

The Cobbers' go-ahead, and game-winning, goal came at 1:49 in the third period as Ali Nelson (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) scored on a power play from Emily Sell (Sr., Williston, N.D.).

Hamline is now 4-13-3, 3-9-2 MIAC while Concordia is 12-7-2, 6-6-2 MIAC. The same two teams will play again tomorrow, Saturday, February 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Warner Coliseum.
