Pipers have trio of NCAA provo throws at St. Olaf

Hamline took places one through five in the shot put, starting with Brennan McKeag's NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 15.66 meters. Blake Springman (Sr., Adrian, Minn.) was second with a throw of 13.45 meters, Joe Morelli (Fy., Lynwood Wash.) was third at 13.43 meters, and Derall King (Sr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) placed fourth at 13.33 meters. Kyle Anderson (Fy., Forest Lake, Minn.) rounded out the top five at 12.70 meters.

Andrew Schlichting (Jr., North Oaks, Minn.) won the weight throw at 18.13 meters, an NCAA provisional throw. McKeag was second at 17.28 meters, also an NCAA provisional throw, and Springman was third at 16.05 meters.

In the 200-meter dash, Christian Swanberg (Sr., Lindstrom, Minn.) crossed the line in second in 23.16 while DJ Weil (So., Chaska, Minn.) was fourth in 23.20. Tyson Molitor (Sr., Belgrade, Minn.) placed sixth in 23.30.

At the 400-meter distance Christian Willman (So., Rosemount, Minn.) was second in 50.58. Molitor was fourth in 51.22 and Andrew Thomas (Fy., Farmington, Minn.) crossed right after him in 52.91.

In the mile run, Colin Rogers (So., River Falls, Minn.) ran to third in 4:30.35.

Matt Warhol (Sr., Andover, Minn.) was fourth in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.36 while Zach Handsen (So., Coon Rapids, Minn.) was sixth in 8.45.

In the long jump, Pipers placed second and third, as Dan Johnson (Sr., Granite Falls, Minn.) had a jump of 6.39 meters to finish second and Travis Latzke (Fy., Belle Plaine, Minn.) was third at 6.11 meters.
