Hamline University is proud to announce the launch of its new Center for Public Administration and Leadership. Building on the dynamic and innovative graduate and doctoral programs of the Hamline School of Business , the center will support and strengthen the practice of public service by providing opportunities for professional development, continuing education, and public discussion of the field’s key issues.
The center will offer a regular menu of seminars, certificate programs , alumni events, and other activities that will allow state and local leaders to enhance their skills, network with one another, and work to improve public administration within the region.
“We have offered relevant, practical graduate degrees aimed at professionals in the government sectors for more than 25 years. With the establishment of the Center for Public Administration and Leadership, we will bring the expertise of our faculty and our alumni to a larger audience of practitioners,” said Nancy Hellerud, interim dean of the Hamline School of Business. “We look forward to the expanded contributions we can make to public service in Minnesota and our neighboring states.”
The new center is part of the Hamline School of Business Department of Public Administration, which offers master and doctoral degrees, as well as certificates in corrections administration, economic development, labor relations, public safety administration, and public works.
“We look forward to strengthening our connections with the nearly 800 graduates of our Public Administration program,” said Professor Bill Joynes, director of the Center for Public Administration and Leadership. “We have a practitioner-focused curriculum that highly values the dialogue between students and working professionals."
