Minnesota’s oldest university is hosting a debate that will
determine Minnesota’s new governor. Hamline students will have the chance to
hear in person from the candidates for governor of Minnesota on Saturday,
October 9. Mark Dayton (DFL), Tom Emmer (R), and Tom Horner (IP) will square off
in a debate that will air live on FOX 9 TV from 6-7p.m.
Candidates will
give their views on a wide range of vital issues facing the state. Questions
will be posed by FOX 9 anchor and debate moderator Jeff Passolt; a pre-selected
media panel from the Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, and FOX 9; and by some Hamline
students. Members of the Hamline community and a small number of invited guests
from each of the campaigns will comprise the audience.
