The Students Rebuild Water Challenge, in partnership with charity: water and Global Nomads Group, will help to bring clean, safe drinking water to those who need it most. Hamline is taking The Challenge by making paper beads and mailing them in to generate funding for water projects in Tanzania. Every 20 handmade beads will provide access to clean water for one person. How? The beads every Piper makes can provide thousands of people clean water in Tanzania because the Bezos Family Foundation through Students Rebuild will match your beads with funding for 41 water projects that serve schools and communities.
In collaboration with Social Justice Symposium, Hamline Undergraduate Student Congress (HUSC) wants to unite the Hamline community in efforts to uphold one of the Hamline values- Social Justice. Therefore, HUSC will have supplies available 4-8pm in the Anderson Forum on Wednesday, April 2nd so Hamline Community members can stop by to make some beads for clean water. This is an event open to everyone! Come for twenty minutes, or stay for the entire event- that is up to you! We just ask that you come and support our global community through this simple service project. There is no pre-registration and or cost, however, we ask that if you have any glue, magazines, or newspapers to spare, please bring them!
