Designing Effective Assignments for Courses with Experiential Learning Components

Designing assignments that effectively incorporate reflection and academic integration is crucial to facilitate student learning in courses with experiential learning components, such as community-based learning projects, service-learning, field-based research and internship placements. This working session will focus on best practices and effective assignment design to use students’ experience outside of the classroom to facilitate meaningful discussion, reflection, and deeper understanding/application of academic course content.
