Description:

CLE: Elimination of Racial Bias in the Legal Profession & the Practice of Law
Racial bias in our profession is often implicit and remains entrenched despite decades of legal and programmatic reforms.  What can we do to avoid window-dressing institutions and to bring about transformational change? Our distinguished panelists will discuss their journeys in facing bias in the legal profession and the administration of justice.  They will also suggest accessible strategies, some tried and untried, that can be implemented right away for transformational change.  Participants will also be given time to reflect on and to innovate transformational strategies.

Panel: The Honorable Leo I. Brisbois, Magistrate Judge, District of Minnesota
Ms. Martha G. Capper, Recruiting Administrator, Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, L.L.P
The Honorable Donovan W. Frank, U.S. District Judge, District of Minnesota
Ms. Valerie Jensen, Esq., Executive Director of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice
