    Heritage Society

    Over the years, many wonderful and generous alumni, faculty, staff, and friends have blessed Hamline University with charitable gifts and bequests. The Heritage Society was chartered in the fall of 1992 to celebrate that generosity and to assist people who wish to provide for Hamline through their estate planning.

    Benefits of Membership

    Membership is open to anyone that makes a planned or estate gift commitment for the benefit of Hamline University.

    In addition, and perhaps most importantly, you will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that your philanthropy will help continue to provide a quality education for future generations of Hamline University students.

    We hope that, as a member of the Heritage Society, you receive a feeling of satisfaction and a lifetime of well-deserved recognition. Membership entitles you to:

    • An invitation to the special events including Dean's List Tours and President's Dinner
    • A specially-designed Heritage Society membership pin;
    • The option to have your name included in the registry of Heritage Society members;

    The Symbol

    The symbol of the Hamline University Heritage Society is based on a detail of the carving atop the stone columns fronting the entrance to historic Old Main.

    The leafed branch represents what the Hamline University experience has come to mean to alumni, faculty, staff, and friends alike: friendship and community, renewal, respect for tradition, and devotion to higher values.
