• Family Weekend

    November 11 - 13, 2016

The Office of Student Activities is excited to invite you to campus for the Annual Family Weekend program. Family Weekend provides the families and friends of Hamline students an opportunity to experience campus life! It is a great way to spend time with your student, visit with University faculty and staff and explore and enjoy the Hamline community. Activities for the weekend include opportunities to cheer on Piper Athletics, the Annual Fall Concert, the opening of the 85th theater season, a chance to experience the co-curricular community and much, much more.  We welcome you to take advantage of the various programs offered throughout the weekend.

As usual, the Family Weekend schedule is packed with opportunities for the families and friends of Hamline students to explore campus while also spending time with their student.

We are currently working on the 2016 Family Weekend schedule. Feel free to check out the schedule for the 2015 Family Weekend program below.

    Commitment to Service

Hamline University values an individual and community ethic of social justice, civic responsibility and inclusive leadership and service. As a part of the Family Weekend program and our commitment to service, we will be hosting the 2016 Sock Drive, November 1 - 13, 2016.

    Why a Sock Drive?

According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, on a single night in January of 2014 over 570,000 people were experiencing homelessness - sleeping outside, in an emergency shelter or transitional housing. The average temperatures in the Twin Cities during the month of January range from 8 to 24 degrees Fahrenheit. Socks provide a layer of insulation against the winter weather protecting the body from cold-related conditions including frost bite and hypothermia.  Socks are one of the most requested items at homeless shelters. They are also one of the least donated items of clothing. Donated socks will be given to local agencies serving the homeless in the Twin Cities.

Donation sites for the 2016 Sock Drive will be located around campus, November 1 - 13, 2016.

Registration for Family Weekend is not required. However, by registering for the weekend you can reserve FREE tickets for the Hamline Football game and Hamline Hockey game for your family. In addition, registered families will receive updates to the Family Weekend schedule and also be entered into a special Family Weekend drawing for a Piper Pride basket filled with goodies from the Hamline community.
