Phillip Steffes is a member of the Hamline University School of Law adjunct faculty. He currently teaches the course Legal Writing - Contracts. Currently, he serves as the Associate General Counsel for Cray Inc., and has since 2002, and previously held the position of Chief Business Counsel for Cray Inc. Prior to joining Cray Inc., he worked with the Control Data Corporation from 1978-1984 as the Region Manager, working with contracts. He has also worked with ETA Systems as the Director of Contracts and Business Practices from 1984-1989.
From 1898-1991 he was an Attorney for the Steffes Law Office, and after leaving he worked as Senior Counsel for Supercomputer Systems Inc. until 1993, when he began to work for MCSB Technology Corporation as their Vice President and General Counsel until 1998. In 1999, he became the Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the Neutility Corporation, whom he remained with until 2002.
