In the broadest of terms, I sense that in my interviews over the past years [that] people all over the country and from all walks of life, that there is a growing longing in our time to bring religion more constructively back into the mix of resources with which we approach all different questions before us. That means, also, critically, that religious questions and vocabulary, and theological modes of discourse have their place in the academy. I've been very intrigued with how Hamline has been wrestling with this all throughout its history. - Krista Tippett
I'm enormously proud to be a United Methodist-related university that takes the position that there is academic freedom, that we may all seek truth in a different way. For this to be accepted, not just condoned but encouraged, is an enormous and important legacy to have left to us by a group of Methodist pioneers. - President Larry Osnes
I really enjoyed that she prepared specifically for Hamline and how her views and ideas in her broadcasts relate to Hamline history. - Carolyn Metcalf '68
