It was a very nice tribute to the university's 150 years. It was nice to see some dignitaries do a re-creation of the signing of the charter. And the historian gave a nice speech as to what campus life was like 150 years ago.

Board Chair Ron Mitsch '56 and Former Governor Al Quie re-enact the signing of the charter that established Hamline University, 150 years to the day after the original was signed.

Bishop John Hopkins, Professor Emeritus Scott Johnston, President Larry Osnes, and Senator Jane Ranum JD '79, also participated in the ceremony, representing the United Methodist Church, the Hamline faculty, and the Legislature.
 
The event was held in the Rotunda of the
Minnesota State Capitol.
