A Letter from the Dean

Dear Alumni,

Finally!

The time is here for celebration. For the past 150 years, the College of Liberal Arts has been looking for an excuse to throw a huge party in honor of our traditions, our history, our teachers, our students. Some (not I) may remember the warm-up in 1954, when the College celebrated its 100th birthday. Well, practice makes perfect.

Please join me on October 15, 2004, as we tip our hats to all things Hamline-how far we’ve come, how far we’ll go. If you’ve not been back to campus since 1954, or 1979, or even if you were here last when you received a diploma this past May, I hope you’ll take some time this fall to see how things have changed, and how they’ve stayed the same.

We’ve been waiting for some time now to gather in honor of the College’s story, and the countless individual stories that create it. I look forward to seeing you this October 15!

Cheers,

Garvin Davenport
Dean of the College
Vice President for Academic Affairs
