The Founders Week keynote address by
Krista Tippett, host of Minnesota Public Radio's Speaking of Faith
series,
will
be held in Sundin Music Hall at 9:30 a.m. Tippett, a journalist
and nationally known religious scholar, will discuss the timeless
relevance of Hamline's founding values in her talk “Looking Back,
Thinking Forward: Religion and Education in the 21st Century.”
SESQUICENTENNIAL WORSHIP SERVICE

A worship service, reflecting on Hamline's Methodist
roots and welcoming ecumenical and interfaith traditions, will
follow the keynote. Students, faculty, and alumni will be part
of this important community ceremony.

HAMLINE DAY AT THE STATE CAPITOL
Wednesday, March 3

Minnesota State Capitol Rotunda
On the very day 150 years later,
Hamline will re-enact the signing of the charter establishing the
university as the first in the Minnesota Territory. Minnesota historian
Steven Keillor, author of No More Gallant a Deed and other books,
will give a short address, framing the historical context of Hamline's
founding in the Minnesota Territory through the Civil War.
Transportation from campus to the event will be provided. Buses will leave from Sorin Hall, starting at 10:15 a.m. A reception room and refreshments will be provided in Sorin Hall, Rooms A&B prior to the buses departure. Register online now!

All Founders Week events are free
and open to the public, but registration is required for some. Register online now, or you may also register by phone by calling Linda Nybakken at 651-523-2200 or 1-800-767-5585.
Guest parking is available in all permit-only lots during these events. You will not be ticketed. However, parking is most readily available in the Hamline United Methodist Church lot at 1514 Englewood Avenue (one block south of Hewitt).

Mei-Ting Sun, winner of the First International
Piano-e-Competition, returns to Sundin Music Hall for a benefit
concert for the International Piano-e-Competition. After winning
the first International Piano-e-Competition, Mei-Ting Sun's career
has been launched to international status with performances around
the world. Proclaimed as “stunningly fluid” by the New York Times,
