Off Topic: Acrobat (was X1)

Speaking of other programs, I'm currently saving a lot of things as PDF files using Acrobat 7 Professional, but cannot find anything in its help regarding running Paper Capture on documents created from JPGs. Acrobat seems determined to treat these differently than other PDF files and while Capture will run, it seems to have no result. I've been using my digital camera to photograph some books so that I'll have access to the text when out of the US, and it would be awfully nice if I could run the occasional word search or use the highlighter function on these as I can with other PDF files.

Has anyone figured out how to do this?

I do have Acrobat 7 Professional, and I tend to save most of my documents as PDFs, so I might just leave it at that, but I'm not sure I would be happy with that.

I just have tons of documents, and it's getting harder and harder to find
them all. I might try to collapse the elaborate chain of subdirectories, and
use something like X1 to find things as I need them.

Best,
